Gorillas are terribly vulnerable. Poachers’ illegal snares and evil traps, the destruction of their forest home, human diseases and armed conflict are all having a devastating impact on them. In fact, all gorilla subspecies are now classified as either endangered or critically endangered – just one step away from extinction. But there is hope.
We protect gorillas and their habitat by supporting ranger patrols. At the same time, our community projects give people living alongside the gorillas the chance to earn a livelihood without having to enter the forest to set snares or cut down trees.
