Team Gorilla celebrate epic London Marathon

Team Gorilla enjoyed its most successful London Marathon to date this year. A team of 12 runners all completed the 26.2-mile course, raising more than £17,300 for gorilla conservation in the process! This breaks our previous fundraising record for the marathon – an amazing achievement!

Gorilla Organization staff and supporters positioned themselves at the Mile 12 mark to cheer Team Gorilla on, and they were also there at the end to welcome them over the finish line.

Leo Strutt, Projects & Fundraising Officer at the Gorilla Organization, says: “The crucial funds Team Gorilla have raised will help us to train farmers in sustainable agriculture, provide impoverished families with firewood-saving stoves, equip rangers to carry out gorilla monitoring patrols and to broadcast key conservation messages to thousands of people living around protected areas. A big thank you to all our runners, and all their friends, family and colleagues who supported them.”
