Hertfordshire School helps save gorillas

Lochinver House fundraising

Lochinver House Prep School in Potters Bar chose The Gorilla Organization as one of their three charities for the past school year and on Thursday 9 July the school very kindly presented The Gorilla Organization’s Executive Director Jillian Miller with a cheque for £9713.46.

The effort from all of the school pupils as well as the parents and teachers has been absolutely fantastic and everyone at The Gorilla Organization is incredibly grateful for their generosity over the past academic year. The work the charity does to support the projects in Africa is only made possible with the help of supporters and fundraisers. A proportion of this fundraising has come from exciting and inventive fundraising carried out by schools across the country such as Lochinver House.

“As an organization we have plenty of experience collaborating with schools that have chosen us as their charity of choice but we are always on the look out for more schools to collaborate with,” says Events Manager Chris Perrin.

“We can provide heaps of fun and educational activities like talks by experienced ambassadors such as Ian Redmond, a world-leading primatologist. We also have an exciting new ‘Jungle Room’ coming soon to our London head office that is ideal for school visits. Furthermore, we can offer a twinning programme with schools in Uganda. In addition to this there are many exciting fundraising activities we can help to organise such as gorilla bake sales, banana days and mini Great Gorilla Runs.”
